SECOND TEAM
Adam Spielman Citi
Four the past four years, Adam Spielman held the No. 1 spot. Although he slips to second place this year, the Citi analyst continues to impress clients by being “fearless in asking the hard or controversial questions of management” and “extremely well informed and well connected.” Spielman has held Philip Morris International, which is headquartered in the U.S. but does not distribute its products there, as a top pick since June 2008, at $45.01, on the belief that company’s pricing power would lead to more-robust earnings, among other factors. The stock had risen 30 percent, to $58.53, by the end of December 2010.
