BlackRock said global ETF holdings have risen 40% in the past one year, Money Management reports. The global ETF industry’s assets totaled $1,442.7 billion across 2,825 ETF products from 146 providers on 49 exchanges at the end of the first six months of this year. The figure exceeded $1,025.9 billion at the mid-point of 2010, when there were 2,252 products from 130 providers on 42 exchanges. The U.S. accounts for just under $1 trillion of global ETF assets, Germany $124 billion, the U.K. $76 billion and Australia accounts just $3.9 billion.
