The iShares S&P 500 has touched $9.2 billion in assets under management, becoming the biggest exchange-traded fund in Europe, Fundamentals reports. The ETF had net inflows of over $1 billion since the start of 2011.
The fund offers access to the S&P 500, which has returned 26.98% since iShares first launched the ETF in Europe in 2002. The iShares S&P 500 provides exposure to the 500 largest companies in the U.S. by market capitalization and on average $69 million of the fund was traded each day during 2010.
