THIRD TEAM

Noriyuki Matsushima Citi

Taking third place for a third year running, Citi’s Noriyuki Matsushima scored a big hit when he upgraded light-truck producer Isuzu Motors of Tokyo from hold to buy in February 2010, at ¥218, on rising demand. Sales rallied, and the stock rose as high as ¥409 in January before slipping to ¥367 at the end of February 2011, a whopping 68.3 percent advance that blew past the sector by 52.5 percentage points. “He has good timing and abundant knowledge and contacts, thanks to his long experience,” cheers one grateful investor.

Polling and tabulation of data as well as reporting on the sector profiles were completed before the March 11 Tohoku earthquake.
