Though he missed a run-up in the shares to date in 2010, when the stock soared 39.4 percent, he warned investors in December that a likely rise in oil prices would more than offset the Mumbai-based carrier’s improved balance sheet. In May the company reported consolidated full-year results with a net loss of 858.4 million rupees ($18.8 million) for the 12 months through March, compared with a loss of Rs4.2 billion for the year ended March 2010. The stock plunged 42 percent, from Rs771.90 rupees to Rs447.55, and trailed the broad market by 35.5 percentage points, through May.
