J.P. Morgan’s Latika Chopra, who claims third place, “provides the best service on a large universe of companies,” avers one backer. Chopra upgraded cigarette and tobacco products manufacturer ITC from neutral to overweight in May 2010, at 130.88 rupees, largely on steady tobacco pricing and little competition. Shares of the Calcutta-based concern vaulted 47.5 percent, to Rs193, and blazed past the sector by 36.9 percentage points, through May 2011.
