Barclays Capital’s Rupesh Madlani and his two-member team shoot straight in to second place. “They are most helpful in framing demand dynamics across the renewable-energy food chain,” observes one grateful adherent. The team upgraded Finland’s Outotec from equal weight to overweight in June 2009, at €17.51, on its recently completed cost-cutting program and on an increase in capital expenditures from mining companies, its primary customers. Shares of the energy-efficient mining equipment supplier had catapulted 164.1 percent, to €46.24, by late December 2010, compared with a 26.1 percent advance by the broad market.
