Robert Ohmes of Bank of America Merrill Lynch improves by one position to second place. Among the names he has highlighted over the past year is Atlanta-based Carter’s, the baby’s and children’s apparel retailer that owns OshKosh and other brands. He points in part to expectations that the company would expand its market share internationally and grow its e-commerce sales from $140 million in 2012 to $200 million in 2013. Since Ohmes advised clients to buy Carter’s in March 2012, at $48.50, the stock has leaped 51.8 percent, to $73.64, through August. During the same period the sector gained 4.1 percent. “Robbie brings a smart veteran’s perspective to a sector where many competing-firm analysts are greener,” lauds one supporter. “He has a strong understanding of what makes stocks work, and he can put two and two together.” — Katie Gilbert
