Debuting in second place is former All-America Research Team Rising Star Carlos Kirjner-Neto of Sanford C. Bernstein & Co. The analyst is “very detailed and laser focused on real fundamentals,” one supporter insists, “not the noisy information that tends to drive just volatility.” Kirjner-Neto covers six stocks and plans to expand coverage by year-end to encompass more large-cap names. “We have been advising investors to invest in Internet companies that have scale, benefit from network effects, have technology edges established though learning-by-doing and [have] a proven track record of execution and sustained innovation,” he says. Examples include such sector behemoths as Seattle-based online retailer Amazon.com and Mountain View, California–based search engine and web analytics provider Google. The Internet is in many ways still in its infancy and as such “has tremendous potential for innovation and larger-than-expected value creation — even in large, multibillion-dollar businesses,” the researcher concludes. Kirjner-Neto “provides great insight for long-term fundamental investors like us,” the same fan cheers.— Pam Baker
