Andrew Kligerman UBS

After four years in first place, Andrew Kligerman of UBS slips to second but continues to earn acclaim for “knowing what moves stocks,” as one portfolio manager puts it. Last October, after having been restricted because of UBS’s underwriting involvement, Kligerman resumed coverage of Ameriprise Financial with a buy rating, at $35.80, arguing that its recently announced acquisition of Columbia Management would expand the Minneapolis-based financial services firm’s asset-management business. Through August, Ameriprise shares jumped 21.7 percent, to $43.58. “Andrew makes timely calls and knows which data points are important and which are not,” marvels another ally.
