Credit Suisse Group is keeping close tabs on a bonus plan it hopes will stem the flow of departures. According to
MarketWatch, in early 2005 Credit Suisse offered to 100 managers an estimated $543 million in deferred stock options that would become full stock after five years. A year later, the company has expanded the offer to an estimated 900 managing directors in New York, but it is now monitoring the program to see if it works in retaining talent.
MarketWatch says the bank has yet to put a price tag on this year's bonus plan. In addition, Credit Suisse has also set up an incentive program for bankers who generate new business to its wealth management and trust areas through referrals from client companies.
