Chinese bankers, expressing confidence in the government's monetary policies, remain optimistic on the country's future economic growth. According to a People's Bank of China's survey of 2,800 banking institutions, the Bankers' Confidence Index stood at 82.4%. This is the highest level since the survey was started by the central bank at the beginning of last year. China Daily quoted bankers, as saying that the economic performance was normal in the current quarter. Around 80.1% respondents expect normal economic growth over the next quarter. PBOC said that the survey reveals the recognition of last year's macroeconomic performance, and also the confidence in the national economy's health and stability.
