Rep. Richard Baker, R-La., suggests that mutual fund investors could benefit from personalized reports on fund performance, as long as they are cost-efficient. Speaking to the Mutual Fund Directors Forum, Baker, who heads the House capital markets subcommittee, also said while he supports a move to making better use of the Internet to improve disclosure, as proposed by Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Christopher Cox, he also backs "lightening up" certain SEC requirements if the agency imposes new disclosure measures.
