D.A. Davidson is seeking to add up to three salesmen to its team of 16 and hire a consumer analyst within the next six months. Additionally, the Great Falls, Mont.-based, investment firm is considering opening a New York or Boston office. "There is a lot of transition on the Street and opportunities to hire good people," said Douglas Woodcock, director of equity capital markets. Woodcock declined to disclose when any new offices would open.

Additionally, the boutique is focusing on covering consumer electronic products that drive the technology industry and recently hired senior technology analyst L. Alan Davis to cover digital media technology. Davis worked at McAdams Wright Radgen, a Seattle-based brokerage, in the same capacity. "The technology and consumer space has opportunities to create incremental coverage and receive leverage," said Woodcock The boutique has 13 senior analysts that cover technology, consumer, financial services, infrastructure, basic materials and capital goods and industrials.
