JP Morgan will open a new office in Qatar’s capital, Doha, to expand its capabilities in the Middle East. The U.S. bank will provide investment banking, treasuries and securities services as well as credit and custody services to local clients. The new branch at the Qatar Financial Centre will be regulated by the Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority, and has received authorization to undertake regulated activities in and from the centre. JP Morgan’s senior country officer in Qatar, Karim Noujaim, will head the new office.
