Long-term mutual funds saw outflows of nearly $4.58 billion, as per the Investment Company Institute (ICI), The Wall Street Journal reports. These funds witnessed weekly inflows of $6.3 billion in three weeks. For the week that ended on July 20, equity funds saw outflows of $6.84 billion, as compared to $3.44 billion of outflows the prior week. Investors withdrew $6.53 billion from U.S. equities and $311 million from foreign funds. As per the ICI report, bond funds received inflows of $2.36 billion, as compared to $5.29 billion the prior week. Investors, which injected $2.14 billion in taxable funds and $226 million in municipal funds, withdrew $105 million from hybrid funds, as compared to prior-week inflows of $592 million.
