The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has selected Michael Conley as deputy general counsel for litigation and adjudication. Earlier, he was deputy solicitor at the regulator.

Conley will now manage enforcement matters, appellate cases and adjudications. He will succeed Anne Small, who has resigned to take a position at the White House as special assistant and associate counsel to the President. Conley started his legal career as a law clerk.
