BlackRock has selected Simon Beresford and Neil Purvis to expand its defined-contribution (DC) business, Professional Pensions reports. The firm has named Beresford as COO at BlackRock’s Peterborough DC administration centre and Purvis as head of DC member communications.

Beresford will be responsible for managing DC fund dealing and transfers, pension member administration, the client and member contact centre, scheme accounting and regulatory reporting and will report to Gary Smith, head of pension administration services. Purvis will handle BlackRock’s member communications service with its 500 UK DC pension schemes and will work under head of U.K. DC Steve Rumbles.
