HSBC has appointed Paul Thirlwall as global head of exotic FX options, FX Week reports. He joins from Barclays Capital (BarCap), where he served as director and head of foreign exchange short-dated exotics trading.

At BarCap, Thirlwall was working under Ed Falinski, managing director and head of long-dated and short-dated FX options. Separately, Sam Underwood, junior exotics trader at BarCap, is also joining HSBC.
