The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has donated $1.3 million to the Amarillo Area Foundation, Amarillo reports. The donation will be used to finance its participation in the Partners for Postsecondary Success initiative.
The three-year demonstration program is part of a Gates strategy to increase the number of young adults who earn degrees or certification beyond high school by 2025. The project has also received local commitments totaling $1.4 million over the next five years.
