After a year in the runner-up position, the UBS quartet steered by Mark Stockdale returns to second place. “No one has more knowledge or experience,” attests one ally. In July 2009 the team upgraded Travis Perkins from neutral to buy, as a bargain at 550p. By late December 2010 shares of the British retailer of home-improvement products had catapulted 92.4 percent, to 1,058p. “If you want the right answers or insights, you call Mark,” declares one buy-side backer.
