SECOND TEAM Ann Duignan  J.P. Morgan

Ann Duignan lands in second place for a fifth consecutive year. In January the J.P. Morgan analyst predicted a year of underperformance for the sector, noting that it had outstripped the broad market in each of the past two years and “the group has never outperformed in the third year of an economic recovery. History is usually a good predictor.” She has been right so far. In the first eight months of the year, the sector dropped 10.5 percent, more than double the 3.1 percent decline of the Standard & Poor’s 500 index. “Ann is knowledgeable and pro-active,” observes one admirer.
