Sameer Baisiwala Morgan Stanley

Claiming second-place honors for Morgan Stanley is Sameer Baisiwala, who is also the No. 2 analyst in Real Estate. “Sameer has his finger on the pulse of the industry,” declares one portfolio manager. Back in September 2009 the analyst upgraded international drugmaker Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories from equal weight to overweight, at 862.21 rupees, largely on the Hyderabad-based outfit’s increasing penetration into U.S. markets. The stock skyrocketed 87.4 percent, to Rs1,615.85, and bested the sector by a very healthy 32.4 percentage points, through May 2011.
