The Bank of Mexico has sold $600 million in put options, The Wall Street Journal reports. The lender can sell dollars to the central bank in January if the peso appreciates against the U.S. currency. The options were launched last year as a way of collecting additional foreign reserves when the peso is appreciating. Mexican banks have so far exercised around $501 million of the $600 million in options sold last month.
