Citigroup has raised $1.875 billion in a sale of senior remarketed bonds. The notes, which carry a coupon rate of 3.95%, are due to mature on June 15, 2016.

The bank intends to use the proceeds to fulfill previous stock purchase obligation on Sept. 15, 2011. Citi served as the sole book-runner for the transaction, adds Reuters.
