Equities market, Chi-X Europe, will start trading the first centrally cleared contracts-for-differences (CFD) for institutional investors, Financial News reports. The new service, originally set for launch in the third quarter of 2010, is a joint initiative with European clearing house LCH.Clearnet. Participants will execute their equity hedge through their brokers as they currently do, to access the service. The broker will register the equity hedge and related equity CFD with Chi-X Europe, which automatically routes the trade to LCH.Clearnet to be cleared.
