Taking a cue from Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke’s speech, inflows into the iShares Russell 2000 Index Fund spiked to $352.9 million on August 26, Index Universe reports. Investors withdrew $838.1 million from the SPDR S&P 500 ETF. Withdrawals from U.S.-listed ETFs topped $1 billion, although total assets expanded to more than $1.025 trillion from $1.006 trillion the previous day.

The Consumer Staples Select SPDR ETF witnessed investment of $87.5 million into the fund. However, the iPath S&P 500 VIX Short-Term Futures ETN and PowerShares QQQ Trust saw outflows of about $123.6 million and $170 million, respectively.
