THIRD TEAM Guy Moszkowski BofA Merrill Lynch Global Research
Guy Moszkowski, who repeats in third place, is praised for “providing clarity in this disastrous space,” as one money manager puts it. Adds another: “His neutral-to-bearish view has proved accurate.” The BofA Merrill Lynch Global Research analyst downgraded Citigroup from buy to neutral in March, at a split-adjusted $46.78. Moszkowski forecast that continued turmoil in financial markets would further erode sentiment toward the New York–based firm, and he was right. By the end of August, Citi’s shares had plunged 33.6 percent, to $31.05, faring even worse than the sector, which had lost 28.2 percent.
