Yasuki Matsui, chairman of the Japanese investment banking division of Switzerland’s biggest bank UBS, is leaving, Bloomberg reports. Matsui, who came to UBS in 2007 as co- head of Japan investment banking, will exit the bank on December 31. The bank has not disclosed whether he would be replaced or the reason for his departure.
Before joining the Zurich-based lender, Matsui was associated with the global financial services firm Morgan Stanley. Meanwhile, Credit Suisse’s head of investment banking in Japan Taiji Okusu quit the company last month and its Japan CEO Paul Kuo will resign on January 1.
