THIRD TEAM
Chip Dillon Credit Suisse
Chip Dillon, who claims second place for Credit Suisse for a second straight year, endears himself with “knowledge that’s both vast and deep,” according to one loyalist. Dillon downgraded Nashville, Tennessee–based midcap wood producer Louisiana-Pacific Corp. from outperform to neutral in April, at $10.34, in part on weak lumber pricing, and cautioned that “there may be more attractive entry points between now and this fall.” The stock had tumbled 19 percent, to $8.38, by early July, when the analyst discontinued coverage as he prepared to leave the firm; during the same period the paper and forest products subsector was up 1.9 percent. Dillon joined Vertical Research Partners in July.
