Farhad Irani has been selected by Mashreq Bank as the new head of its retail banking unit, Trade Arabia reports. He will succeed Douglas Beckett, who left the firm to pursue other opportunities.

Irani is joining the Dubai-based lender from PayPal, where he was head of PayPal Asia Pacific since April 2009, adds CPI Financial. Prior to this, he was associated with Standard Chartered.
