The Malawi Environmental Endowment Trust (MEET) is planning to increase its endowment capital to $7.95 million by 2014, Nyasa Times reports. The endowment capital is currently estimated to be $3.899 million.

Allan Chiyembekeza, Chairman of the parliamentary committee on agriculture and natural resources, has initiated talks with stakeholders and partners for the same. In 2010, MEET provided 52% of its grants to nongovernmental organizations, 25% to government departments and 16% to academia.
