HSBC Holdings is seeking to lay off about 3,000 employees at its regional headquarters in Hong Kong over the next three years, The Wall Street Journal reports. The job cuts are part of the lender’s global cost reductions.

The bank may redeploy some of the staff members. HSBC has already shed 5,000 jobs in the U.S., the U.K., France, Latin America and the Middle East.
