Diego Celedón & team J.P. Morgan

Dropping from first place to third is J.P. Morgan’s two-person team led by newcomer Diego Celedón in Santiago; the duo is also ranked first for coverage of Chile and second for Argentina. “This is truly a great team, with Diego giving you the top-down view and the analysts providing good trips along with bottom-up company analysis,” says one buy-side supporter. “Colombia and Peru are probably two of the stronger macro stories in Latin America," observes Celedón. "Peru is growing very fast." Celedón notes that J.P. Morgan's economics team forecasts real gross domestic product growth of 6 percent this year in Peru; in Colombia the expectation is 3.5 percent GDP growth and "75 basis points of rate cuts before year-end, which would probably boost domestic consumption," he adds.. — Paul Sweeney
