Credit Suisse’s six-member squad sails into third place in this newly added sector. The crew is directed by Guilherme Rocha, who is headquartered in São Paulo, and Mexico City–based Vanessa Quiroga; they also pilot the team ranked second in Cement & Construction. The analysts follow 25 companies and have earned a reputation for delivering “unique, value-added work,” as one portfolio manager puts it. In early September they launched coverage on Brazil’s Aliansce Shopping Centers with an outperform rating, at 12.94 reais, primarily on valuation. By mid-July the Rio de Janeiro–based mall developer’s shares had soared 36.9 percent, to 17.54 reais, and trumped the sector by 19.6 percentage points. “They have people on the ground throughout the region, which is crucial,” notes another supporter. — Ben Mattlin
