| Investor praise for Jamminder (Jimmy) Bhullar, who finishes on the first team for a third consecutive year, seems to know no end. “Of the many analysts covering the life insurance sector, Jimmy is the hardest working by far,” insists one fan. “Jimmy Bhullar is the most responsive sell-side analyst in any sector — he will return investor calls from anywhere on the planet across any time zone,” asserts another booster. The J.P. Morgan researcher, who follows 18 companies, also garners kudos for maintaining an overweight on Reinsurance Group of America that dates back to a July 2005 upgrade from neutral as a bargain at $42.98. The stock seesawed for a time, but Bhullar insisted it was a strong defensive play in an uncertain macro environment, especially given its international growth prospects. By the end of August 2012, shares of the Chesterfield, Missouri–based life insurer had climbed 36.7 percent, to $58.74, leading the sector by a whopping 71.7 percentage points — and the analyst remains bullish. Bhullar, 35, “is in tune with entry and exit levels to provide alpha,” concludes a third ally. |
