Citi’s London-based team of two led by Alastair Johnston slips one rung to No. 3. The analysts have expanded their coverage universe by two names over the past year and now publish research on 13 companies. They point to one name in particular within that group that investors should favor for the long run: Colruyt. The Belgian discount retailer “relentlessly focuses on what we consider the most important determinants of long-term success: sales productivity and cost control,” Johnston explains. While acknowledging that Colruyt’s short-term outlook is somewhat challenged, “on a longer-term horizon,” the group leader insists, “we think Colruyt is a clear winner.”
