São Paulo–based Garcia recommends a degree of strategic circumspection going forward. “With uncertainties remaining high about operating performance related to homebuilding in the coming months,” he says, “we expect more downward forecast revisions.” Nevertheless, low valuations do lead him to maintain a positive outlook on a few names in Brazil’s real estate space. One example is Even Construtora e Incorporadora, a residential developer that is headquartered in São Paulo. He is bullish on the shares thanks to the homebuilder’s improving results, attractive pipeline of projects and limited inventory of finished units. Even’s stock traded at 6.24 reais at the end of July, and the analyst projects a rise to 10.10 reais. Garcia plans to expand his coverage universe in the coming months from its current count of 15 domestic real estate companies.
