| Mikhail Ganelin | | Sberbank CIB | Although he slips from second place to third, Mikhail Ganelin continues to win praise for his “excellent understanding supported by his close contact with high-level players,” according to one client. The Sberbank CIB analyst reports that he follows “more than ten large caps and dozens of small caps.” Current recommendations include such Moscow-based concerns as Aeroflot, a cargo and passenger carrier, and Mostotrest, which provides infrastructure engineering and construction services. In late April, with the latter’s shares at 131.45 rubles, Ganelin pounded the table, citing rising earnings and new contracts for road construction, among other factors. By the end of the following month, the stock had jumped to 147.63 rubles, for a 12.3 percent gain that beat the RTS Industrial Index by 14.8 percentage points. — Ben Mattlin |
