| Raymond Kosasih & team | | Deutsche Bank | | "Raymond is among my favorite analysts, and his team is tops in Indonesia." | It’s three straight years at No. 1 for the Deutsche Bank contingent under Raymond Kosasih, 42. The 12-person team, which works out of Jakarta, consists of “a broad range of experienced analysts and quick-responding assistants,” observes one London-based money manager. Recommended stocks among the 60 the researchers cover include select names in the banking, consumer and property sectors. One example: Bank Negara Indonesia. The group reiterated its buy rating on the Jakarta-based state-owned lender in mid-March, at 4,800 rupiah, partly on reduced credit costs. By the end of the following month, the stock had jumped 12.5 percent, to Rp5,400. During the same period Indonesia’s broad market inched up 2.3 percent. Kosasih and his associates are bullish for the year ahead. “The country’s current account deficit is investment-led,” he says, and that indicates “robust economic growth.” — Ben Mattlin |
