Dmitry Loukashov

Dmitry Loukashov takes second place for a second year running. Tracking 20 energy companies in Russia (and another ten in the region), the VTB Capital analyst has long favored Lukoil, most recently owing to the Moscow-based exploration and production company’s capital investment strategy to support local developments rather than expand internationally. In the 12 months through May, the shares climbed 13 percent, to $60.60, and Loukashov still considers them a bargain. “Dmitry’s value added is his experience in the industry,” affirms one London-based investor, referring to the five years Loukashov spent as a strategist for Russian oil giant TNK-BP before he became a sell-side analyst. — Ben Mattlin
